Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic's Australian Open drama is well known in the sports world. The ATP Tour star was unable to compete in the tennis calendar's opening grand slam of the year due to his unwillingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine, which was a requirement of the tournament. Djokovic recently made his return to the ATP Tour after weeks away from competitive tennis. The star spoke about where he feels he's at following the Australian Open drama while delivering an honest reaction to his first match action, via ESPN.

“I have to be satisfied with my tennis, especially after not playing for two and a half, three months,” Djokovic said on court. “Of course, there were moments when I played great, there were moments when I made a couple of unforced errors in a row uncharacteristically. But it's normal to expect that [in my] first match after a while.”

Novak Djokovic was victorious in his return to the ATP Tour against Lorenzo Musetti at the Dubai Championships. Djokovic said that “he has to be satisfied with his tennis”, given the long layoff after his absence from the Australian Open.

The Serbian star noted that it's normal to expect peaks and valleys in his play, especially after a two-and-a-half to three-month layoff. Given that Djokovic had said that he felt he was in ‘peak' condition heading into his first ATP Tour action since the Australian Open debacle, it shouldn't take him too long to regain his top form.
