Denver Nuggets guard Austin Rivers is having none of the conspiracy theories some of his fellow NBA players are slinging around with regards to COVID-19 and the vaccines against it.

Rivers, who himself tested positive, revealed that he's read comments on his Instagram posts about wild COVID-19 theories, though, those are the ones that he usually just ignore. But he had a different reaction when he heard his teammates speak about the same nonsense in the locker room.

Via Matt Sullivan of Rolling Stone:

Rivers rolls his eyes when he hears conspiracy theories in the locker room – “fucking wild theories”: the one about Moderna mind control again, and then the fake news about Joe Biden and Big Pharma in bed with the Illuminati for millions.

“It’s all for money,” Rivers recalls hearing a fellow player say.

“How’s it for money? It’s fucking free!”

Unfortunately for Rivers, not every player, and apparently not all of his Nuggets teammates, share the same thinking with him when it comes to the vaccine.

The NBA is already facing a tough challenge of executing all the necessary steps to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the league, but it gets harder when players show stubbornness towards getting tested and vaccinated.

With an outbreak going on in the league, the NBA can only hope that it manages to put the situation under control before it gets even more serious.
