San Antonio Spurs fans vehemently booed Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard on Thursday, and count Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas has someone who is not a fan of the booing.

Isaiah Thomas says the fans shouldn't have been booing a player who brought them a championship and looked out for his best interests:

As we all know, Kawhi Leonard only played in nine games last season and requested a trade from the Spurs last summer. Leonard reportedly didn't like how the Spurs handled his quadriceps injury.

Isaiah Thomas, who is recovering from arthroscopic hip surgery, can somewhat relate to Kawhi Leonard. Thomas has been about how about athletes deserve the right to sit out if they are not 100 percent because it's their body at the end of the day.

Thomas revealed last season he shouldn't have played in the 2017 playoffs with the Boston Celtics because of his hip ailment, but that he did because he wanted to win a championship. If the All-Star guard could go back in time, he probably would sit out.

The fans in San Antonio believe Kawhi Leonard quit on the franchise. Requesting a trade didn't help his reputation either. One thing is certain, though: Isaiah Thomas has Kawhi Leonard's back.
