In this season alone, there have been many questionable calls by the referees, which have sparked a league-wide response. At the All-Star break, players and league officials will meet to discuss the issues brewing between both parties. The problem between players are referees is somewhat because of the dialogue between the two parties, while most of it is because of the calls itself.

Granted, referees shouldn't be expected to get every call right. It's simply unreasonable. However, the NBA referees have made a flurry of downright weird calls and have stood by them with no explanation. This has angered players and coaches to the extent where the league had to get involved.

If you don't believe in this dilemma, then check out this absolutely ridiculous foul call on Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris.

There are many things wrong with this call.

To start, Giannis Antetokounmpo blatantly threw an elbow right at Harris as he went up for a shot. At the end of the video, you can clearly see Nuggets head coach Mike Malone explain to the referee that Harris got whacked.

Lastly, Antetokoumpo should have been called for an offensive foul for using excessive force to post Harris up. Harris wasn't flopping by any means; he got knocked down and was whistled for some type of imaginary foul against the Greek Freak, who didn't even budge on the play.

This play represents the discrepancy of quality calls in today's NBA. As blunt as it sounds, referees have a job to officiate games fairly. This call was completely absurd and violated that duty.
