Are you not entertained? A year after not having college basketball, March Madness is back in full swing and today's upset of the number two seed Ohio State at the hands of Oral Roberts is the first shocker of the tournament. The Buckeyes were 15-point favorites heading into today's game. Stars E.J. Liddell and Duane Washington are NBA-ready but today was not their day. Oral Roberts needed five extra minutes in overtime to get it done, but they were the stronger and better team.

15 seeds are now 9-133 lifetime going up against the 2 seeds. The first time it happened was back in 1991 which Richmond defeated Syracuse 73-69.

Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have cemented their names in history. Alongside the likes of Middle Tennesee defeating Michigan State in 2016, Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown in 2013 as two of the more memorable upsets in March Madness history. Two of them actually happened in the same year, as Lehigh conquered Duke and Norfolk State knocked off Missouri in 2012.

Duke's Loss In March Madness Is The Top Choice

So where does this monumental upset rank among the other nine? It would be fair to say it's in the top three. The number one for sure was when Lehigh Mountain Hawks upset the powerhouse that was Duke University. There were 8 million people tuned into that game, with many people not having a clue who Lehigh was. There was this incredible feeling of fans wanting to watch Duke burn to the ground, and boy did they ever. Lehigh also had a player on their team in C.J. McCollum who dropped 30 in the game.

The other big one was Florida Gulf Coast beating Georgetown 78-68 in 2013. FGCU went on to win another game and advance to the Sweet Sixteen before being extinguished by Florida. They were a darling in March Madness that year and became the first 15-seed to win multiple matches.

Overall these upsets are far and few between, but when you get them you realize why they call it March Madness.
