Anna Kane, the ex-wife of the Edmonton Oilers' Evander Kane, donated money to the Minnesota Wild's Ryan Hartman to help pay the fine he received for flipping her ex the bird.

On Tuesday, Hartman literally jumped to teammate's Kirill Kaprizov's defense when the Oilers' Evander Kane provoked the Wild winger. After a quick scrum, Hartman was seen flipping Kane off as he skated to the penalty box. The NHL responded by fining Hartman $4,250.

However, Wild fans decided to help Hartman out. According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, fans took to Venmo to get the ball rolling on covering Hartman's fine.

But the most notable donation didn't come from a Wild fan. It was Evander Kane's ex-wife who stole the show when she posted a screenshot of her Venmo after sending Hartman $200.

For many people in the hockey world, Kane is a villain. He has run into quite a bit of trouble throughout his career off the ice. In 2016, a woman filed a civil suit against Kane alleging he sexually assaulted her. In 2019, a Las Vegas casino filed a suit against Kane over an alleged $500,000 gambling debt. Kane filed for bankruptcy in 2021.

Also in 2021, Anna Kane claimed Evander had been betting on his own games while playing for the San Jose Sharks. Kane denied those claims. Despite his past turmoil, the Oilers still signed Kane as a free agent in January. If you want a full timeline of Kane's controversies – the examples above don't even cover half of them – Yahoo lays it out nicely here.

Hartman looks to have the opportunity to come out of this fracas without being lighter in the wallet, thanks in part to Anna Kane.
