Eyebrows raised earlier this week when Adrian Amos signed a four-year, $37 million deal with the Green Bay Packers, and not just because most casual football fans hadn't heard much about the standout safety during his first four years in the league.

Amos' signing also made waves because he had spent the entirety of his career with perhaps the Packers' fiercest rivals, the Chicago Bears.

Bears fans, some would say understandably, were a bit peeved at Amos' decision to leave the Windy City for eastern Wisconsin, and let him know about it on social media.

Fortunately, the 25 year old at least somewhat sympathized with their feelings, responding on Twitter he was feeling “emotional,” too.

Just two days later, while making his media introduction with the Packers, Amos was singing a much different tune to a much different audience.

Amos had been a starter in the defensive backfield for Chicago since the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft. The Penn State product enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, notching career-highs across the board with 73 tackles, nine passes defensed, and two interceptions.

After news of his deal with the Packers made the rounds, Pro Football Focus called it “the best value of free agency so far.”

Amos' signing was just one among a flurry of acquisitions the normally patient Packers made this week.

The team also signed a pair of talented pass-rushers, Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith, to big-money contracts in hopes of shoring up a defense that finished 22nd in points allowed last season.
