The Green Bay Packers signed safety Adrian Amos this offseason, then drafted Darnell Savage Jr. in the first round of last week's NFL Draft. The moves made significant improvements to a weak spot on the team's roster. However, they could also come at a price for one Packers veteran.

In a piece on ESPN.com, NFL writer Bill Barnwell says the Packers may look to move on from safety Josh Jones. Here is what Barnwell said regarding Jones:

The 2017 second-round pick has to be on notice after this offseason. Brian Gutekunst signed Adrian Amos from the Bears in free agency to take over at one safety spot and moved up to draft Darnell Savage Jr. with the 21st pick in the first round. Jones could figure as a third safety, but the Packers might prefer Tramon Williams in that role. The Packers could look to move Jones to a team looking for help against the run.

Last year with the Packers, Jones tallied 55 tackles and one pick.

Savage's speed and range in coverage likely make him a more enticing option to start at the back end of Green Bay's defense alongside Amos, who had a career year with the Chicago Bears last season, totaling 73 tackles, a sack and two interceptions.

During his career at Maryland, Savage totaled 139 tackles, eight interceptions and 13 passed defended. His best season came during his junior year, where he notched 45 tackles, three picks and eight defended passes.

Whether it comes at the expense of Jones or not, Savage will be a likely starter and potential impact player from Day 1 in Green Bay.
