Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey is one of the more talented running backs in the NFL. Problem is, he's struggled mightily to actually stay healthy. After missing 23 of 33 games since the beginning of 2020, the team is now listening to trade offers for CMC and it's now been revealed what they're looking for in return: A first-rounder and a significant piece.

Via Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports:

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey isn't on the trading block, but the team has fielded more than one call for the former All-Pro back who's dealt with several injuries since signing his record-breaking extension in 2020, multiple league sources told me during and after the NFL scouting combine.

If a team wishes to add McCaffrey, I'm told the Panthers would be looking for a first-round pick plus another piece of compensation in order to ship one of the most versatile offensive weapons in the NFL today.

McCaffrey inked a big four-year, $64 million extension with the Panthers prior to the 2020 campaign which made him the highest-paid RB in the league but as previously mentioned, he's barely played since. When actually at full strength CMC is a versatile threat, so it makes sense why Carolina is simply listening to offers rather than seriously trying to move him.

McCaffrey rushed for back-to-back 1,000+ yard season in 2018 and 19′ and has made the Pro Bowl once since coming into the NFL in 2017 after a terrific career at Stanford.
