The Carolina Panthers were without star wide receiver DJ Moore last weekend after he tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Moore should be cleared to return for a Week 15 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The Panthers have officially activated Moore off the reserve/COVID-19 list, per Pro Football Talk.

Moore had been nursing an ankle injury in addition to COVID. But head coach Matt Rhule said the 23-year-old has been progressing well, and he should be good to go for Saturday.

Moore has continued to prove why he is one of the best young receivers in the NFL. The former Maryland product has racked up 924 receiving yards on a career-high 18.5 yards per reception, which ranks second in the NFL behind Green Bay's Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Unfortunately for DJ Moore and the Panthers, there is essentially no hope for the playoffs.

Carolina (4-9) enters Saturday's game in a tie for last place in the NFC South, and it needs everything to go right just to have a chance at the seventh and final seed in the NFC.

The Panthers could have avoided this predicament, had a few things gone their way in the last couple weeks.

Carolina gave up a game-winning touchdown in the final minute of a Week 12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, coming up short after Joey Slye's field goal try missed. The Panthers then clawed back into Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos in the fourth quarter before Drew Lock found KJ Hamler for a 49-yard touchdown with just over four minutes left, essentially icing the game.

Things are rather dire for the Panthers, but DJ Moore should be back on the field after being activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
