Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is back for at least one more year, but he's not promising anything beyond that. Olsen has flirted with retirement in the past, and has been severely banged up each of the last two seasons.

In a recent radio interview with WFNZ, Olsen was noncommittal about his status beyond 2019, per Steven Taranto of 247Sports.

“I don't know what the future holds. I think a lot of it just has to deal with staying healthy. If I can stay healthy, I can still produce as good as anybody in this league. I've shown that. It's just a matter of your body holding up,” he said.

Olsen has been slowed by a foot injury that he's been unable to shake the past couple of years. As Taranto points out, Olsen had previously said he wanted to play a handful of more years before the foot injuries set in.

As Olsen explained, it's all about the foot right now for him.

“Sometimes things like that are out of your control, and I think the last two years, the foot thing … I've yet to find a good exercise, good training to not break your fifth metatarsal. I haven't quite figured that one out yet. But we're trying to throw everything we can at it to keep it from happening again. And if I can just keep the rest of my body feeling good and in good shape, I'll be fine,” he continued.

Before his last two seasons were ruined by injury, he had made the Pro Bowl in three straight seasons and had just become the first tight end in NFL history to have three straight 1,000 yard seasons.

While Olsen wouldn't commit to playing beyond this year, he did say he'd play a lot longer if he can stay healthy, and he made it clear he isn't anywhere close to satisfied yet.

“The last two years obviously haven't been how I'd want to close out a long career. I still have things I want to accomplish personally. Things obviously collectively as a team that we haven't been able to accomplish yet,” he explained.

The Panthers start training camp on July 25.
