Drug testing is supposed to be random in the NFL but for Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid it seems like he could be being targeted and coach Ron Rivera has caught on. Reid was signed after the season started and has only played in 11 games and according to Reid he has been tested after seven of them. Rivera on Thursday said that with the Luck Reid has, he might want to buy a lottery ticket.-

“I guess there was something about some mathematician saying it’s highly improbable, but definitely possible,” Rivera told reporters, via David Newton of ESPN.com. “But I’ll say this, if my name came up that many times, I’d buy a lottery ticket.”

There are a lot of different reasons why this is happening but if the NFL is targeting him, that is a huge scandal that is going to really give the NFL a black eye. Reid has been very outspoken about the Colin Kaepernick situation and some have suggested why this might be happening.

There is also a chance that the number could be exaggerated and there isn't much the NFL can do to try and refute what Reid is saying.

If Reid really is being tested as many times as he claims he should be filing a grievance with the league to figure out why the testing has been happening so much. Although it could be a coincidence he is being tested so much so if he is being targeted he needs to make sure the league gets to the bottom of it.
