Carolina Panthers cornerback Stephon Gilmore has a lot of things to settle with his former team, the New England Patriots, when they meet on Week 9 this Sunday.

Of course he'll be more than motivated to show the Patriots that they made a mistake trading him–saying earlier that he has “a lot extra” motivation heading to the contest. But more than that, he'll be ready to remind them how poorly they treated him and handled his injury.

While he refused to go into detail what exactly happened, the star cornerback emphasized that he didn't like how the Patriots managed his quad injury. To recall, after he was sidelined at the start of the 2021 campaign due to the health issue, the team was planning to release him before the Panthers swooped in and acquired his services.

Stephon Gilmore returned from his quad injury in Week 8 and helped the Panthers devour the Atlanta Falcons, 19-13. He record two combined tackles one pass defended and one interception in the game, a pretty solid start for a player making his debut after a long time on the sidelines.

Hopefully, though, he has gotten used to his teammates more when they paly the Patriots at home. Bill Belichick and his New England squad are rolling after winning two straight games against the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers, so they enter the Week 9 contest with a lot of confidence.

Nonetheless, knowing the Patriots' offense like the back of his hand, Gilmore will certainly play a big role in stopping them.
