Former New England Patriots defensive back Stephon Gilmore had some interesting comments about the way that the team ran the organization.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick made comments about what Gilmore said.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Belichick had this to say:

“Surprised to hear him say that, because we had several meetings and laid out a plan on how he would rehab once he came back to training camp.”

“Of course, he wasn't here all spring, so we really didn't have any idea where he was. But when he came back, we had several meetings and talked about that. So you'd have to ask him.”

Belichick is making it seem like the Patriots did everything that they could in terms of Gilmore's injury. It's an interesting situation and the real story will never come out as we will only hear both sides of the story.

It was interesting that Belichick made the comment that Gilmore was not around during the spring. It seems that the Patriots did not know where he was or how severe his injury was. This could have caused Gilmore to believe that the Patriots didn't care too much about his situation.

Gilmore and the Patriots separated as Gilmore is now with the Carolina Panthers. This will probably be the last that we hear of the situation from Belichick as he usually doesn't get caught up in media situations like this.
