After a disappointing blowout defeat to the Los Angeles Rams in their Week 13 encounter, question marks continued to loom over the quarterback situation of the New England Patriots. In response to the matter, head coach Bill Belichick recently affirmed his commitment to his QB1 in Cam Newton who will continue to be at the helm for the remainder of the season.

The multi-titled tactician responded to reporters that he won't be entertaining questions of the same nature moving forward.

“Yeah, I’ve answered that question for the last time,” Belichick said via the Boston Herald.

Rightfully so, the 2015 NFL MVP has been criticized by many after he chalked up another frustrating performance under center. He only finished with 119 yards on 9-of-16 passes completed without a touchdown scored for the Patriots. He also amassed four sacks and threw four picks which forced Belichick to put him on the bench for the remainder of the game.

Sophomore quarterback Jarrett Stidham made his fourth appearance on the field this season when he took over the playmaking duties in the fourth quarter and concluded the game with 27 passing yards on a 5/7 passing clip along with two sacks.

The entire Patriots unit looked lost as they succumbed to their Super Bowl 53 foes in a lopsided 24-3 outcome. The loss served as the latest debacle in the Patriots' roller-coaster of a season.

Their playoff chances continue to narrow down as they currently find themselves with a 6-7 win-loss record and third in the AFC East. Overcoming a tough matchup against division rival Miami Dolphins in Week 14 will hopefully help the Patriots add another tally to their win column and contribute to laying the quarterback questions to rest this time around.
