New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton couldn't hide his frustrations after another tough loss against the division rival Buffalo Bills in Week 16 proceedings. The 2015 NFL MVP also shed light on an ESPN anecdote that claimed he starts his day at 4:30 a.m., goes on the road 10 minutes after waking up, and doesn't go to sleep until 11:30 p.m.

Via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk:

“That’s been my schedule for 90 percent of the time I’ve been here,” Newton said. “So you can kind of understand the frustration I do have when I don’t have the outcome, because I’m sacrificing so much. [You’re] talking to a person who ain’t seen his kids in three months. Obviously the contract is what it is. Submitting myself to this team is something I’ve been doing since day one. Being accessible.”

Newton added that he has sacrificed so much all throughout his short time in Foxborough, only to find himself concluding yet another disappointing performance in Week 16 of the season. The Patriots quarterback has had a rough season:

“Yeah, it’s frustrating. It makes you mad. It makes you angry knowing that to be a trusted teammate you first have to submit to authority and submit to what the coaches are asking you to do. I feel like I have done that. I’m not in the place of blame. I’m more or less venting right now because, yeah, I’ve sacrificed so much this year. I mean, it hurts when you have the outing that you have tonight, just to go home, then start it over for a whole ‘nother week, yeah.”

Indeed, there was nothing to be happy about Newton's individual showing, as well as the Patriots' entire performance in their game against the Bills. Newton only threw for 34 yards on 5-of-10 passing before being replaced by backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham in the third quarter.

The sophomore racked up 44 yards on a 4-of-11 passing clip without a touchdown scored. The lowly production of the quarterbacks coupled with the Bills' dominant offense resulted in a 38-9 shellacking, powering them to their first sweep of the Patriots since 1999. At 6-9, New England also guaranteed its first losing season since 2000.

Newton's future with the franchise is unclear, but it has certainly been a roller-coaster ride of a season. New England finishes off the year with a game against the New York Jets.
