The New England Patriots' Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans this past Saturday may have had much larger implications than simply knocking the Patriots out of the postseason. It may have also been the last time we saw Tom Brady in a Pats uniform.

According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, it is “far from a guarantee” that Brady, who is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason, will return to New England in 2020.

Darlington added that Brady actually feels liberated to have the freedom of choice this offseason and that his decision on whether or not to re-join the Patriots for another reason will be largely on his terms.

In addition, Darlington said that Brady has “no plans” of retiring.

Seeing Brady in another uniform is difficult to imagine, but the possibility is there, and Darlington made it perfectly clear that it does seem like something Brady could potentially explore.

The 42-year-old is coming off of his worst season in quite some time, as he threw for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 88.

His completion percentage and passer rating were both his lowest marks since 2013, and it also marked Brady's lowest yardage total in a full 16-game campaign since 2010.

Not only that, but 2019 represents the first time Brady did not earn a Pro Bowl selection since 2008 when he played in just one game before going down with a torn ACL.

Excluding that injury-shortened 2008 campaign, Tom Brady last missed the Pro Bowl in 2006.
