Through much of the last several years,  there has been a debate around who is the top quarterback in the league. Much of that has centered on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady holding that prestigious title.

He has proven to be an ageless wondering coming off yet another highly productive season despite being 40-years-old that saw him earn the NFL MVP award. However, when his teammate veteran defensive tackle Marquis Flowers was asked to name another quarterback that is the best that he has faced aside from the five-time Super Bowl MVP.

Flowers has been in the NFL since the 2014 season having played for the Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals over his first four years in the league. It is a bit of a surprising choice given that there are other viable choices for that prestigious titles such as Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees have often been designated with that honor over the years.

However, the one meeting against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers back in the 2014 season with the Bengals where he put together a strong all-around performance where showed his ability to be a dual-threat quarterback. In that game that wound up being a 37-37 tie, Newton ran for a team-high 107 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown while passing for 284 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the contest.

Although Newton has had his fair share ups and down throughout his career, Newton has proven to be one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has demonstrated to have one of the strongest arms in the league that has helped him make any type of throw down the field. His ability to greatly impact the game in both the passing and running game while possessing size at 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds makes him arguably the most athletically talented player at his size at the position. Nonetheless, it is a debate that has no clear-cut answer around the league
