New England Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is confident his play will continue to elevate in the next couple of games.

Sanu was traded over from the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick before the NFL trade deadline. Overall Sanu has been much of a disappointment both with catching the ball and the other job responsibilities that come with being a wideout.

I haven't really scratched the surface yet of what I know I can do,” Sanu said, via Mike Reiss of ESPN. “Getting adjusted to things people have known for years, or months, you have to catch up. It's a lot of little details of things. I've been getting right up to speed. It's just little things you can't teach; they just have to be done. It's the difference between knowing and doing.”

During the Bills game, Sanu missed his assignment as a lead blocker that should have picked up an easy first down on 4th-and-1. Instead, the Patriots were stopped and it let the Bills back in the game.

As a receiver Sanu only has 23 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown. That is nowhere close enough to good enough for a team that gave up such a high draft pick to get him.

Hopefully, Sanu is right and he is going to turn the corner soon because the Patriots need him in a big way. Outside of Julian Edelman, it's been largely disappointing for the wide receivers this season, and if the team wants to make a Super Bowl run they need more production.
