The New England Patriots made a big move last week, acquiring wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons.

Sanu made his Patriots debut on Sunday, logging a couple of catches for 23 yards in a 27-13 win over the Cleveland Browns, and afterward, the veteran said he “felt great.”

“It’s really special because you can see why they are the way they are,” Sanu said, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “You can see why they have won as much as they have. How deliberate they are at practice and the time they spend on the keys to the game.”

With New England releasing Antonio Brown earlier in the season and Josh Gordon's time in Foxborough looking all but over, the Pats were in serious need of help in the aerial attack, and Sanu should be able to provide that for him.

Through eight games overall this season, Sanu has totaled 35 catches for 336 yards and a touchdown.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Rutgers, was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round (83rd pick overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bengals before linking up with the Falcons in 2016.

Sanu showed incremental improvement during each of his first three years in Atlanta, most recently hauling in 66 receptions for 838 yards and four scores in what was his best season to date in 2018.

New England improved to an NFL-best 8-0 with the win over the Browns and will take on the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday.
