The New England Patriots notably selected former Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver N'Keal Harry with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Despite the fact that Harry has yet to officially step foot on the gridiron at the highest level, the soon-to-be rookie wideout is already receiving some criticism from at least one former NFL pass-catcher — well, sort.

Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne has urged everyone in the football world to “pump the breaks” in regards to Harry.

“I think you got to sit back and you got to look at a young receiver coming into this league,” Wayne recently said on NFL Network, via NESN. “I’ve always said it’s going to take you a year to maybe a year and a half before you can adjust to the speed and what’s going on for an NFL football team, especially being a receiver playing with a guy like Tom Brady.

“I just think you have to pump the brakes a little bit with N’Keal Harry and just understand that it’s a process and give him a year or so before he can actually go out there and play fast and not think.”

However, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn't too far off from Wayne's thoughts when speaking about Harry.

“I always say when someone’s 22 [years old], in some ways it’s a disservice the way they get treated because everyone expects them to come in and just take what they did in college and replicate it in the pros,” Brady said, via 247 Sports. “And in reality, it’s a totally different game.”

Of course, the Patriots probably have nothing to worry about as New England has won two of the last three and three of the last five Super Bowls.
