Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey made headlines this offseason for his blunt takes on some of the other star players in the NFL. Among them was New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

There was bad blood between these two teams even before Ramsey's comments. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Gronkowski does not intend to fan the flames come Week 2:

“There can always be talking going back and forth, tempers getting heated up and everything,” Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski told reporters on Wednesday regarding his preparation for a Jaguars defense that may try to bait him. “You just got to keep your cool, and I don’t see any benefit to getting a 15-yard penalty out on the field because you lose your cool. So, you’ve just got to keep your cool and keep your head on straight.”

Gronkowski is as passionate as any player on the field. However, it appears he does not want to get too caught up in all the trash talk that will go down on Sunday. This may come as a bit of a surprise considering everything that has transpired since last year's AFC Conference Championship matchup between these two franchises.

Ramsey was not shy about expressing his opinion on Gronkowski's status in the NFL. He even went so far as to say that the five-time Pro Bowler is “not good.” He alluded to the fact that Gronkowski registered just one catch for 21 yards against the Jaguars before he was knocked out of the championship game with a concussion.

Despite what Ramsey may think, there is no doubt that Gronkowski is the best tight end in the league when healthy. He will need to do his part to stay cool; otherwise, he could risk burning a fuse like he did against the Buffalo Bills last year.
