Whether or not Rob Gronkowski's tremendous football career has already ended remains to be seen. Even if the superstar tight end ultimately decides to hang up the cleats, though, it seems very likely he'll remain in the public eye regardless.

During an appearance on “The Peter King Podcast,” Drew Rosenhaus, Gronkowski's agent, stressed that his client “loves” playing for the New England Patriots, but could elect to pursue other entertainment opportunities as the wear and tear on his body grows more debilitating.

“He loves football. He loves playing with [quarterback Tom] Brady and [head coach Bill] Belichick and his teammates. He loves to win championships,” Rosenhaus said, per NBC Sports' Darren Hartwell. “But at the same time, the amount of pain and punishment that he’s had to endure, for somebody who can do something outside of football and be a huge success — whether it is broadcasting, or acting, or endorsements — Rob has so many opportunities. It is a tough decision. I am sure he would love to play football, but at the same time he has to consider where he is from a physical standpoint.”

After the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII early last month, Gronkowski, during an on-field interview with Tracy Wolfson of CBS, seemed to suggest he was seriously considering retirement, saying winning another ring “would be a wonderful way to go out.” He'd previously threatened to retire before the 2018 season kicked off, as reports surfaced that New England was broaching trading him to the Detroit Lions.

A five-time Pro Bowler, the 29-year-old Gronkowski has won three Super Bowl rings with the Patriots.
