There have been rumors flying around that Rob Gronkowski could return to the New England Patriots this season. Gronkowski left the door open for a return by saying he could come back—but not right now.

Earlier this offseason, the playful tight end retired from the NFL after spending nine seasons with New England. Injuries have taken their course on Gronkowski and the dominant pass-catcher was ready to walk away from the game of football.

Despite his retirement, fans and the media have continued to question whether or not the tight end would consider a return to the Patriots in the near future. For now, Gronkowski seems to be doing just fine without football in his life.

In an event in New York on Tuesday, the recently retired tight end announced that he will be an advocate for the NFL and other sports leagues to allow the use of CBD products for pain relief. At this moment, CBD is a banned substance in the NFL and other leagues.

Gronkowski stated that he wasn't “in a good place” due to the injuries he had accumulated over his nine seasons in the NFL. Similarly to Andrew Luck, the former Patriots tight end said that he had lost the joy in football because of the constant pain he underwent during his career.

Now, Gronkowski said that using CBD products has allowed him to be “pain-free” in his life after football. The unstoppable pass-catcher is in great shape but until his passion for football is rekindled, his return doesn't seem imminent.

There's no doubt that fans in Foxborough will be pounding the table for Gronkowski to catch passes from Tom Brady once again as the season progresses.
