The New England Patriots have had a quiet offseason thus far. The Patriots moves' largely concerned players of their own, as they re-signed safety Devin McCourty and offensive lineman Trent Brown. The team did bring in former New York Giants safety Jabril Peppers, Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler and hybrid receiver/running back Ty Montgomery. However, New England's moves on offense left a bit to be desired, especially with the team seeking improvement from second-year quarterback Mac Jones. That's why the Patriots' recent actions surrounding free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. make a lot of sense. Reporter Dov Kleiman has the latest Patriots rumors regarding Beckham Jr.

Per Kleiman, the Patriots have had “exploratory talks” with Odell Beckham Jr. Kleiman reports that both sides aren't in a rush to get a deal done at this time.

It makes sense that the Patriots are looking into Beckham Jr. For one thing, the franchise looked into the star wideout earlier this year when he was released by the Cleveland Browns, though he ultimately signed with the Los Angeles Rams.

Beckham's stint with Los Angeles likely reaffirmed that he can be a top receiver in the NFL to teams, as he totaled 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight games while playing a pivotal role in their Super Bowl run before he succumbed to injury in the big game.

Beckham Jr. would be a great addition to the Patriots' receiving corps, which features the likes of Jakobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne.

Beckham Jr. would also help the development of Jones in year two, an integral part of the 2022 season.
