In the waning moment of the Los Angeles Lakers winning the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League championship, All-Star forward Paul George once again stirred the rumor mill pot.

George made the decision to tweet out a subtle message that many have interpreted as being directed toward the Lakers.

It may all just coincidental that the 27-year-old tweeted this at that time, but it only fuels the speculation that he wants to wind up in Los Angeles next summer. His interest in possibly playing for the Lakers for the 2017-18 season has become a prevalent topic of conversation around the league.

George hasn't exactly done much to shoot down that scenario even after being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder nearly three weeks ago. Instead, he has maintained that he's keeping his options open in regards to his pending free agency decision.

All of this is music to the Lakers' ears, who are in the position to possibly make some significant progress next season with a young team led by a promising rookie point guard in Lonzo Ball. This alone could be enough to seriously appease not only George but also LeBron James if he does indeed elect to become a free agent next summer.

Plenty of things still have to first fall in place, but for the time being, George is only further fueling the talk that he will ultimately jump to Los Angeles.
