The NBA is reportedly investigating an incident from Wednesday night where New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis flipped off a fan, according to Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo Sports.

A video went viral showing Davis flipping off a Pelicans fan as he was leaving the Smoothie King Arena.

However, it appears the fan yelled an expletive to Davis and that's why The Brow flipped him off.

The fan who originally posted the video, Bradley Wehmeyer, offered his side of the story in a series of replies on Twitter: “Long story short the old dude in the stands behind me flipped AD off first because he was upset that he spent so much money on season tickets and all AD has been doing is sitting out, then AD responded.”

A Pelicans fan account on Instagram posted an alleged direct message exchange with Davis in which the 26-year-old superstar appears to offer a similar viewpoint.

Davis requested a trade from the Pelicans before the February trade deadline. Obviously, things between Davis and the New Orleans fans have been tenuous since then.

This is the third fan incident the league will be investigating in recent weeks. Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook and Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins were the subject of racial taunts by fans in Utah and Boston, respectively.
