The New Orleans Pelicans played the Dallas Mavericks in Dallas early on Saturday afternoon, and Jrue Holiday of the Pels fired off a gorgeous behind-the-back pass to center Jaxson Hayes for an easy flush:

Though the Mavs held a fairly substantial lead for much of the game led by the all-around brilliance of second-year wing Luka Doncic, this highlight helped break up the dominance of the Mavs.

Holiday is a one-time All-Star and two-time All-Defensive team selection, both of which have come in the past two seasons. The 29-year-old guard was named to First Team All-Defensive in 2017-18 and Second Team All-Defensive in 2018-19.

This season, without the team’s nascent superstar No.1 overall pick Zion Williamson, Holiday is playing a huge role on offense and defense for the Pels. The former UCLA guard is averaging a career-high in minutes per game (36.5) and is putting up 19.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 6.9 APG, which is currently 14th in the NBA.
