Is Penguins star Sidney Crosby playing in Game 7 vs. Rangers

Despite Crosby having just recently suffered a concussion, courtesy of a hard hit from Rangers' defender Jacob Trouba, the expectation seems to be that he'll take the ice for Game 7. Penguins beat writer Josh Yohe reports that, barring any issues, he expects Crosby to skate tonight, in addition to goalie Tristan Jarry.

Michelle Crechiolo indicates that it's expected the trio of Jarry, Rickard Rakell, and Crosby will be game-time decisions for Sunday's clash.

This is certainly good news for Penguins fans and bodes well for the chances of Crosby being out there for the win-or-g0-home game. The Penguins were up 3-1 in the series but have lost each of the last two games. Getting Crosby back will be crucial for them in the series finale.

In the series, Crosby has been a key player for the Penguins, registering 9 points in 5 games, including 2 goals and 7 assists. He skated just over 10 minutes in Game 5 before the hit from Trouba put an early end to his night, but he'll be hoping to make his coveted return for Sunday's showdown.

While the latest reports have been positive, nothing will be confirmed until the Penguins drop an official announcement later today.
