The status of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods for the upcoming PGA Championship at Southern Hills has been the biggest storyline in golf ever since his highly anticipated return to the Masters back in April. Woods, who has won the tournament four times in his career, scouted the Southern Hills course and played an 18-hole practice round at the site in late-April, actions that indicated that his participation would be likely. With the PGA Championship set to tee off on May 19, Southern Hills Country Club released the field for the major, as reported by the PGA Tour's Twitter account.

The field for next week’s PGA Championship was announced Monday, and the list featured both Tiger Woods and the defending champion, Phil Mickelson.

The PGA Championship field is set- and Tiger Woods is on the list. Defending champion Phil Mickelson will also be playing at Southern Hills.

Southern Hills' head pro Cary Cozby walked the course with Woods for his practice round, predicting that the ‘all-business' golfer would be playing in the PGA Championship.

Woods' golfing- he shot a 71 in the opening round of the Masters, his first competitive golf action since the car accident he was involved in last February- should not be underestimated. What might be questionable ahead of the PGA Championship, however, is his endurance, which failed him towards the end at Augusta National.

Still, it's a dangerous game to doubt Woods, who should be in better shape when his tee time at Southern Hills arrives later this month.
