Detroit Pistons point guard Cade Cunningham may be the first pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, but many GMs around the NBA don't think he'll win the Rookie of the Year award. For the majority of the execs, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green has a higher chance of bringing home the award.

In the annual NBA GM Survey, Green got 47 percent of the votes as the player most likely to win the Rookie of the Year honor. For his part, Cunningham came second but seven percent behind his Rockets counterpart at 40 percent. Rounding out the Top 3 is Orlando Magic playmaker Jalen Suggs, who got seven percent of the votes.

The voting will surely motivate Cade Cunningham heading to the season, especially since he and Jalen Green were neck-and-neck for the first overall pick heading to the draft.

However, the NBA GMs picking Green over Cunningham wasn't a surprise considering the experience Green brings to the table. The Rockets youngster is considered to be the most polished player in the Class of 2021, perhaps thanks in large part to his experience in the G League after opting to take the pro route instead of college.

As for Cunningham, he certainly didn't help his case with his up-and-down performance in the Summer League where he averaged 18.7 points but with 4.0 turnovers in three games.

Of course Cunningham will have a chance to show what he can truly do when the 2021-22 season starts, and this Rookie of the Year survey could just be the fuel the Pistons' prized asset needs to elevate his game.
