A brand new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet recently dropped and it’s making us more hype for its launch.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet Official Release Date Trailer

The latest video is the second official trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Similar to the first trailer drop, the most recent trailer showcases what players should expect when the game launches. This time around, it’s more focused on short gameplay teasers, character reveals, and Pokemon reveals.

During the first half of the trailer, we now know that there are 2 separate professors depending on which game you purchase. Representing Pokemon Scarlet is Professor Sada, while Professor Turo hails from Pokemon Violet. Despite having 2 different professors, players will only have 1 rival named Nemona in both games. In the trailer, she uses Pawmi to go against your starter Pokemon. Pawmi is an electric-type Pokemon and is the first 9th Generation Pokemon revealed outside the 3 starter Pokemon.

As the trailer continues, more details about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet got more interesting. Apparently, GameFreak is introducing a new feature never done before in previous Pokemon titles. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have a 4-Player Co-op mode for you and your friends to enjoy. It isn’t clear yet whether or not the multiplayer mode will be a couch party or done online. Regardless, the Co-op mode will allow players to explore the open world with their friends and initiate trades while in a party. This new online feature will definitely make Pokemon Scarlet and Violet feel like a more complete RPG open-world game.

Sad to say, there’s a particular feature from Pokemon Legends Arceus missing in this version of the game. It looks like GameFreak is going back to the traditional Pokemon battling and capturing style. Some fans are disappointed to know that they can no longer sneak behind unsuspecting Pokemon to catch them without risking your Pokemon’s HP and PP. However, that still remains to be seen since we’re only interpreting what we’ve seen in the trailer. PLA’s unique method of approaching Pokemon is undeniably a very popular feature with the fans. Somehow, it encourages players to complete their Pokedex due to the variety of methods you can execute to catch a Pokemon. If anything, there’s a possibility that GameFreak will retain PLA’s battle and capture style, just a more dialed-back version. Besides, the trailer specified that the gameplay footage isn’t final yet. For now, we’ll have to wait and see which direction the developers are going.

Last but definitely not least, we are now aware of the 2 new Legendary Pokemon representing each game. Koraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokemon Violet. Both are serpentine Pokemon with snake-like faces and are very different from one another. Koraidon looks like a more traditional type of Pokemon who has all 4 limbs. Miraidon on the other hand looks more like any modern-day Pokemon having 2 rocket-fueled engines for legs. We are yet to see their in-game character model, but, undoubtedly both of them look epic.

It’s been 3 years since Pokemon trainers played a brand new mainline Pokemon game. After Pokemon Sword and Shield, The Pokemon Company decided to work on remasters and spin-offs. Finally, after patiently waiting for a few years, we’re officially entering the world of the 9th generation of Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will officially launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch come November 18, 2022.
