The Oakland Raiders were able to come away with a 24-16 win over the Denver Broncos in their season opener. After an offseason full of drama, especially surrounding Antonio Brown, it was a great change of pace. Tight end Darren Waller may not be a hyped up talent around the NFL, but he showed out in the first game of the year.

Following his big performance, head coach Jon Gruden opened up about his “special” offensive weapon.

Waller is going to be a major impact player for the Raiders' offense. With Brown no longer in town, the Raiders will need a few players to step up to give quarterback Derek Carr the targets that he needs.

Against the Broncos, Waller ended up catching seven passes for 70 yards. Not bad for a guy that no one was talking about. Now, he is one of the most intriguing tight ends to keep an eye on heading into the Raiders' Week 2 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Oakland also loved what they saw from wide receiver Tyrell Williams, who was signed in free agency. Williams caught six passes for 105 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos.

It will be interesting to see how the Raiders look against a talented Kansas City team. Getting the first win of the season was a big step in the right direction, but Gruden's team needs to play well this week. Even if they can't get the win, they will have a chance to prove that they can hang with legitimate contenders.
