The Oakland Raiders suffered a massive setback on Sunday, losing to the New York Jets by a score of 34-3. They also may have lost wide receiver Hunter Renfrow in the process, as he sustained a broken rib and a punctured lung in the defeat, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Renfrow logged three catches for 31 yards against the Jets. On the season overall, he has tallied 36 grabs for 396 yards and a couple of touchdowns. The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was selected by the Raiders in the fifth round (149th pick overall) of the NFL Draft back in April.

Initially expected to be an auxiliary piece between Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, Renfrow stepped into the spotlight when Brown was released just before the regular season began. Due to Oakland's lack of depth at receiver, Renfrow has developed into one of Derek Carr's top targets, especially over the last five weeks, where 22 of his 36 receptions have come.

The Raiders fell to 6-5 with the loss to the Jets and fell into a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans for the final Wild Card spot in the AFC.

Oakland's Week 12 matchup with New York was also supposed to be one of the easiest games on the club's remaining schedule, as the Raiders will now have to head on the road to battle the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday before hosting the Titans on Dec. 8.
