Jon Gruden is out as the Las Vegas Raiders head coach and it appears one of his former players isn’t exactly fond of how he did business. Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, who won a Super Bowl with Gruden in Tampa Bay in 2002, had some rather interesting words to say about his former boss,  per USA Today:

“He’s just always been a fraud to me,” Johnson said. “From day one he’s been a used car salesman and people bought it.

“I also saw through who he was through the journey of getting a championship,” he added, telling an anecdote after he and Gruden won Super Bowl XXXVII.

Yikes. I wonder if any of the Raiders players think the same? They all had Gruden’s back after the initial email leaked of racial remarks, with the likes of Derek Carr and Josh Jacobs accepting the fact that Gruden made a mistake.

Johnson, who was the first overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft, played under Gruden for two seasons before moving onto the Dallas Cowboys. That’s obviously not a very long time but clearly, he didn’t see eye-to-eye with him.

There’s a good chance we never see Gruden coach again after his resignation from the Raiders. It’s a pretty messy situation and teams will likely steer clear of the 58-year-old after this whole saga.
