The Las Vegas Raiders and Kolton Miller have agreed on a three-year extension worth over $18 million annually, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Miller is getting $42.6 million guaranteed at signing and is now the fifth-highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL.

Here are more details:

ESPN's Field Yates points out how Miller is the first member of the 2018 NFL Draft class to secure an extension. There are a number of other notable players looking for new deals:

The Raiders picked Miller 15th out of UCLA in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has been a mainstay on the offensive line ever since, starting all 16 games in each of this first two seasons and then starting all 14 games he played in 2020. This new deal now extends him well beyond the fifth-year option he had for 2022, taking him off the market for free agency in 2023.

While Las Vegas has now locked in Miller to help protect Derek Carr, the franchise previously made some big changes to the offensive line this offseason. The Raiders traded Trent Brown to the New England Patriots, Gabe Jackson to the Seattle Seahawks and Rodney Hudson to the Arizona Cardinals. There will likely be more tweaking as this offseason goes on.

Las Vegas showed some promise in 2020 before settling in at a mediocre 8-8 record to fall short of the playoffs. While the offense was prolific, the defense was one of the worst in the NFL. The Raiders will need to improve that defense, but they should feel good about locking up a key cog of their offensive line for the long haul.
