Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown is threatening to leave the game if the NFL does not allow him to wear the helmet he has worn the first nine years of his career. Well, so he says. O.J. Simpson isn't buying it.

The Hall of Fame running back is siding with the league on this one, saying that he doesn't think Brown is going to walk away from all of that money just because of headgear:

“I’m from the generation that’s suffering from CTE, so I understand what the league is trying to do,” Simpson said in a video on his Twitter page. “If you’re telling me that he’s willing to give up that kind of money because of the style of the helmet. If you don’t want to go to training camp, don’t, but giving up that money because of the helmet… I call BS.”

The Raiders acquired Brown in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the beginning of the offseason, sending a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder to the Steelers in exchange for his services.

Brown took part in offseason workouts and showed up on time for training camp late last month, arriving in Napa Valley via hot air balloon. However, he was then placed on the non-football injury list, a move that came out of left field. He then came off the list less than 48 hours later and partially participated in practice. Brown has not practiced since.

It was then revealed that Brown was dealing with frostbite on his feet as a result of spending time in a cryotherapy chamber without wearing the proper footwear, which was initially thought to be the reason that the 31-year-old was sitting out, but now, it appears that Brown's fight with the NFL over his helmet is another culprit.
