The Oakland Raiders made a few expensive moves this offseason to better their team moving forward. Among them, the Raiders signed Trent Brown in free agency to protect Derek Carr.

In an article by Vic Tafur of The Athletic, Tafur highlights that Oakland doesn't have “buyer's remorse” with signing star tackle Trent Brown. Here is an excerpt of the article where Tafur talks about the Raiders new offensive tackle:

Brown doesn’t necessarily have Osemele’s mean streak. He is more like a moving wall, annoyed that you are trying to get around him. Brown is a quiet, efficient killer, and will only flatten his Raiders teammates as a reminder that he can.

The Raiders admittedly blew away the market to make sure they got Brown to sign, and they have no buyer’s remorse.

When free agency began, Oakland jumped at the opportunity to secure Brown from the New England Patriots. As a result, Brown signed a four-year, $66 million deal with the Raiders. The deal came shortly after the team traded for and signed Antonio Brown to a lucrative contract.

Last season, Brown spent the entire season protecting Tom Brady's blindside as the Patriots left tackle. With the Raiders, Brown will move back to the right side where he has played at before in his career with the San Francisco 49ers.

In 2018, the Raiders allowed 52 sacks as a team (fifth-most in the NFL). Jon Gruden knew he had to improve the offensive line this offseason.

This season, the duo of Kolten Miller and Trent Brown is expected to keep Derek Carr clean in the pocket.
