Former Oakland Raiders defensive end Aldon Smith made headlines once again for all the wrong reasons after he was arrested over the weekend for an alleged domestic violence dispute. Although he was subsequently released from jail, it seems he could be headed back soon.

According to ABC's Matt Stone, the San Francisco police have obtained a warrant to arrest Smith as a result of the alleged assault:

The San Francisco Police Department Special Victims Unit (SVU) has obtained a warrant for the arrest of Aldon Smith. The arrest warrant is for charges stemming from a domestic violence incident that occurred in a residence on the 600 block of Bush Street on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at approximately 8:30 PM.

Needless to say, Smith's track record is seemingly about to get a little longer. He is currently facing multiple charges listed on the warrant that include: willful infliction of corporal injury (domestic violence), assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment, and vandalism.

Smith had once been one of the most promising young players in the league after kickstarting his career with 33.5 sacks in his first two seasons. However, it was not long before his issues off the field began to spiral out of control. As a result, he has yet to play since the 2015 NFL season.

Unfortunately, his inability to get a handle on his personal life has now resulted in his official release from the Oakland Raiders. At this time, however, it is evident that Smith's NFL career is the least of his worries. It is reported that his lawyers are currently working with police on a day to surrender himself.
