For the last 16 seasons, kicker Sebastian Janikowski has been a source of consistency for the Oakland Raiders.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 39-year old is currently in a disagreement over his contract situation with the team.

Oakland has asked Janikowski, 39, to rework his contract, which calls for him to make $4 million this season, per a source familiar with the situation. Janikowski so far has declined.

The issue could be resolved as soon as Tuesday, with Janikowski accepting a reworked deal or with Oakland moving on to a new kicker.

Janikowski is in the final year of his four-year, $15.1 million deal with Oakland. This could put his tenure with the team in serious question if the Raiders decide to go in another direction if they are unable to rework the contract.

The Raiders appear to be prepared for potentially parting ways with Janikowski as the team reportedly worked out veteran kickers Mike Nugent, Josh Lambo, and Marshall Koehn on Monday. With the start of the regular season now less than a week away, things could shift into high gear over the next couple of days.

Janikowski is currently tied with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the longest tenure in the league with one team, as both came into the league back in 2000. He holds the Raiders' all-time marks for points (1,799) and games played (268).
