The Las Vegas Raiders are expecting Henry Ruggs to become an immediate impact player as a rookie. However, there is a rumor floating around that Ruggs is recovering from a freak off-the-field injury, per Mitchell Renz of Chat Sports.

Less than 24 hours after the report was created, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas is aware of the situation. However, the team refuses to comment on the matter.

On the other hand, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is confirming the reports that Ruggs was involved in a freak accident. At the least, Rapoport reiterated that the rookie wide receiver is expected to be fine.

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, Ruggs was regarded as one of the best wide receivers available. Despite having a chance to draft CeeDee Lamb or Jerry Jeudy, the Raiders decided to take Ruggs instead. Given that, Las Vegas has some lofty expectations for the Alabama product.

Coming out of college, Ruggs is a speedy wideout that can stretch the field vertically. Besides his uncanny speed, Ruggs is an underrated route runner as well. A weapon like Ruggs will be welcomed with open arms by Derek Carr.

In the event that the reports are true that he almost got punctured in his femoral artery, Ruggs could have had an uphill battle to return to the field. The femoral artery is the main arterial supply to the thigh and leg.

Therefore, having something affect the femoral artery could have been absolutely horrific. While he dodged a bullet in the incident, hopefully Ruggs can recover completely in the near future.
