The feud between Los Angles Rams and DT Aaron Donald continues.

This had been a ongoing issue since the beginning of the new year, as Donald played well above his rookie contract and is now seeking a new lucrative deal.

Donald finished 2016 with eight sacks and two forced fumbles and was rated as the number one defensive tackle, according to Pro Football Focus. According to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Donald is threatening to continue his holdout in the regular season, and some speculate that he may sit out the entire 2017.

Of course, a lot can happen between now and the start of the regular season, but this should illustrate how far both sides are on a new deal.

From the Rams perspective, they are in no hurry to negotiate a new contract, as Donald would only cost them a little more than $3.2 million this year and roughly $6.8 million on his fifth-year option.

But, on the flip side, it is in their best interest to keep the big man happy.

Donald could be looking at being the highest-paid defensive tackle when it is all set and done, whether it is paid by the Rams or another team.

To have a good point of reference, a contract to look at is the one by Ndamukong Suh signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2015. He received a six-year, $114 million deal, with nearly $60 million in guaranteed money, according to Spotrac.

With the cap space rising, it is very plausible that Donald will receive a more lucrative deal than Suh received.

Rams fan should buckle up because this is going to be a bumpy season if both sides can't reach a deal.
