After concluding his second stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver DeSean Jackson is raring to see action for his hometown team in the 2021 NFL season. His homecoming will also reunite him with his former mentor in Rams head coach Sean McVay.

The two previously spent time together with the then-Washington Redskins from 2014 to 2016 when McVay served as the team's offensive coordinator. In D.C., Jackson was utilized as more than just a deep threat as he was also tasked to run deep routes, hitches, wide receiver screens, and other underneath routes.

He also used to be a prolific punt returner, a role that he is welcome to serving once again in 2021.

“I can't give you all the information,” joked Jackson. “Me and Sean McVay were just talking about this, I'm not going to spill all the beans, but we got some things to be excited for. Just hold on, hold your horse a little bit, you’ll see (laughs).”

Jackson was previously slowed down by a handful of injuries which only allowed him to suit up in a total of eight games for the past two seasons. His 2020 season wasn't as good as he wanted it to be as he tallied 236 receiving yards on 14 receptions and a touchdown in only five games played for the Eagles.

More than anything, the 34-year-old veteran should prioritize staying as healthy as possible, especially at this point of his career. Now that he is heading to a fresh start with the Rams, the three-time Pro Bowler just wants to contribute and be part of a winning culture in hopes of snagging his first Super Bowl title sooner than later.
