The Los Angeles Rams started backup quarterback John Wolford under center with Jared Goff still recovering from thumb surgery on his throwing hand.

However, in the first quarterback of the Rams' NFC Wild Card matchup with division rivals Seattle Seahawks, Wolford was knocked out of the game with a hard hit to his helmet while rushing with the football. Goff had to enter the game because the team listed him as active and third-string QB Blake Bortles was inactive.

After Wolford walked off of the field with the medical staff, he has been designated as questionable to return, per Eric Williams of Sports Illustrated.

As for Goff, he led the Rams to a successful field-goal try to take an early 3-0 lead over the Seahawks in Seattle.

In the week leading up to the game, Sean McVay refrained from naming a starter at the quarterback position. Goff has been dealing with a broken thumb—that he underwent surgery on—that allowed Wolford to make his first career start against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.

It's still unclear whether fans will see John Wolford back in the game or not, but it is worth noting that the former AAF passer was flexing his neck after the big hit.
