After a notable wait, veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner has made the decision to take his talents to the Los Angeles Rams.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Rams and Wagner have come to terms on a five-year, $50 million deal worth up to $65 million.

Wagner's call to sign with the Rams comes after he had also garnered free agent interest from teams such as the Baltimore Ravens. CBS Sports' Josina Anderson noted that Wagner was in talks with the AFC North powerhouse and the team had a “very competitive offer” in comparison to what he had received from the reigning Super Bowl champions.

However, Wagner did opt to visit the Rams earlier in the week, and after engaging in more discussions with team officials over the past few days, he has decided to stay put in the NFC West.

Wagner is coming off of a lengthy run with the Seahawks, where he featured in 10 seasons and recorded 1,383 total tackles. From the eight Pro Bowl selections to his standout performance in Super Bowl 48 against the Denver Broncos, he established his mark as one of the more formidable defensive players in team history.

As he had a mere one season remaining on his contract, the Seahawks elected to release Wagner earlier this month, which saved the team $16 million in cap space for the 2022 campaign.

Wagner is now slated to tag along with Ernest Jones at the middle linebacker position for the Rams next season. Jones rose to the occasion for the Rams last season following the team's decision to trade linebacker Kenny Young to the Broncos ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

Overall, Rams general manager Les Snead has remained quite busy in the free agency period. While the Rams have watched Von Miller sign with the Buffalo Bills and have not re-signed Odell Beckham Jr., they have bolstered their roster with the additions of Wagner and Allen Robinson.
