Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is set to play in the biggest game of his run in the NFL later this month in Super Bowl 56, and his sheer mentality for it will be the same as he has had for any other contest in his career.

In speaking during a press conference on Thursday, Stafford opened up about his mindset for the upcoming clash with the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I think you treat it just like every other game when it gets to that day,” Stafford said. “You got a job, you got a job to go out there and execute and try and lead your team to help us win.

“Once the is ball snapped, I mean, it’s going to be football. Settle into the game as quickly as you possibly can, trust your eyes, trust your teammates and go play. I think that part of it, once the ball is snapped, is hopefully going to be the part that’s the easiest to just eliminate all distractions and go out and play.”

Stafford’s cool, calm and collected manner when running the Rams offense has certainly been lauded by many over the past month. He has simply been efficient regardless of the situation at hand during the Rams’ ongoing playoff run, which includes a 115.6 passer rating over their trio of playoff wins.

As Stafford noted, trust sure has been vital between him and his threats on offense. He has called upon the likes of wideouts Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. in pivotal downs as of late, and they have come away with multiple crucial such catches.

Stafford will look to complete his fairy tale season with a victory over the Bengals later this month to clinch a long-awaited Super Bowl win.
