The Los Angeles Rams are one of the few remaining teams who are undefeated, but that hasn't stopped fans and the media from asking endless questions pertaining to Todd Gurley. Following Los Angeles' victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night, Sean McVay spoke about Gurley's slow start.

“I have to do better about being able to give him a chance to really get more into a rhythm than what I’ve enabled him to do in these first three games,” McVay said of Gurley. “. . .I think it’s worked out good in terms of the balance. But like I said, I think there is some things you’d like to do a lot better job of giving Todd an opportunity to really get going.”

Prior to the offseason programs, it was revealed that Gurley had an “arthritic component” to his knee. As a result, McVay and the Rams stated that they would limit the workload of their star running back moving forward.

However, after three games this season, the Rams head coach denies that he is managing Gurley's workload. Instead, McVay said that the lack of touches for Gurley have come from having different game plans each week.

“We’re not doing anything like that,” McVay said. “It’s more along the lines of each week presents a different approach. It’s kind of the feel the flow of the game.”

Gurley has carried it 44 times for 203 yards and a touchdown this season. At the same time, he has rarely been utilized as a receiver with just four receptions for eight yards.

Last season, Gurley had a league-leading 21 touchdowns and totaled 1,831 yards from scrimmage. This year, he is on pace to combine for just 1,125 yards from scrimmage and less than 10 touchdowns.

The Rams may be saving Gurley for the playoffs, but as of now, the Rams may be having buyer's remorse for their running back.
