In a recent photo posted to social media, Rams' defensive coach Wade Phillips paid tribute to his legendary father by donning a cowboy outfit.

Under the tutelage of A.O. “Bum” Phillips, the Houston Oilers came within one game of a Super Bowl in both 1978 and 1979. Each time, however, the Oilers fell to the Steelers in the AFC Championship.

Now that the Rams are en route to the Super Bowl, however, the time seemed right to tip the hat to the first Phillips coach, which is just what Wade Phillips did when he stepped off the plane in Atlanta.

An intrepid photographer snapped a photo of the younger Phillips wearing the elder Phillips' trademark sheepskin coat. He completed the look with a cowboy hat that was similar to the one his father wore, as well.

Under the tutelage of the younger Phillips, the Broncos took home the grand prize at Super Bowl 50. He's hoping for a second victory as he serves as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.

This is not to say that Wade Phillips isn't up against some steep competition, of course. The Rams are playing up against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, who have won five Super Bowl rings and have gone to the big game a total of eleven times (including this game, coming up).

The Rams, however, haven't won a Super Bowl since 2000, so it should be interesting to see how Wade Phillips parlays his experience into a potential win for the team nearly 20 years later.
