An old video of current Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard has resurfaced where he admits that he was following the Los Angles Lakers of the 2000s, featuring Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.

Check out the video below featuring Leonard as he reminisced on growing up in California and falling in love with the league. He even admitted that he paid close attention to O'Neal and Bryant and plucked out elements from their game and made him his own.

The old clip comes in after Leonard claimed that he was never a fan of the Lakers and that he idolized Philadelphia 76ers legend, Allen Iverson.

The clip outraged several fans — especially devotees of the purple and gold. After all, Leonard requested over the summer that he wanted to play for Los Angeles and if he were to choose, he would don a Lakers jersey.

However, several fans defended Kawhi Leonard's claims that in the clip, he never did admit that he was a Lakers fan. He simply watched them play and being an aspiring NBA player, he observed them and took out what he can learn from the Lakers.

Besides, NBA players of Leonard's age grew up in the 2000s where Shaq and Kobe were the most dominant duo in basketball. Fan or not, it would be hard not to appreciate what they did to the city of LA.
