A Toronto TV station called game a little too early on Thursday night, as the CP24 news station had the Toronto Raptors going down 3-0 to the Boston Celtics before the last 0.5 seconds of regulation played out.

The anchor relayed the results from the chyron, giving the Celtics a 3-0 lead in the series, but the reporter, Beatrice Vaisman, jumped in just in time to save the station from becoming a full-on blunder. Take a look:

In true poetic fashion, Vaisman interviews a fan in his car, who still holds out hope, noting “it's the NBA, anything can happen. I have seen more crazy things with less than one second.”

And right he was, indeed, as OG Anunoby would cash in on a corner 3-pointer to give the Raptors a series-saving win:

Fans inside the car had a quick freak-out moment as Vaisman announced the Raptors had won it with the triple. The CP24 chyron remained incorrect for a few moments before it changed to display the correct result.

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse admitted he got this crunch-time play from an old Hubie Brown coaching DVD — legends helping other legends, it appears.

This NBA postseason has been full of down-to-the-wire finishes, and this series has been no exception. Hopefully, this wild end to Game 3 of this Raptors-Celtics series teaches the station a valuable lesson — it's better to be right than to be first.
